Legacy Systems Ready for Cloud Transformation

A leading European provider of HR and payroll services was struggling with maintenance and agility in developing a solution they had acquired.

The main challenges included:

• A lack of development standards
• Inconsistent and mostly custom solutions to common requirements
• Significant technical debt
• Time and resources needed for further development
• Complicated and time-consuming deployments

A group of nearshore Darize specialists joined the four teams that were working on the solution, replacing the previous vendor’s consultants.

After knowledge transfer was completed, a brainstorming session was held, and viable solutions were discussed.

While other consultants helped the customer ensure stability and performance of the existing solution, a small dedicated team began working on a Proof of Concept.

A sample functionality was developed based on a new architecture that adheres to modern standards, and new pipelines and environments were created to ensure high quality and smooth deployments.

The POC enabled the client to initiate high-level discussions to secure project funding and present arguments for a global cloud strategy.

New team members have brought the necessary technical expertise, as well as communication skills and the confidence required to challenge the status quo.
