CUSTOM SOFTWARE - modernization & system integration

Modernization and system integration help your solutions work together more effectively

System landscapes evolve over time. Technology becomes obsolete, functional requirements change, and new solutions emerge. We help modernize and integrate your solutions so that your business is not held back by technical debt or a lack of system coherence.

CUSTOM SOFTWARE - modernization & system integration

Transition from legacy technology that drains time and money to an up-to-date system architecture

The technological engine room is the beating IT heart of any organisation. Your technology landscape must build on what already works, while also making room for new workflows and technologies. In this way you can take advantage of new opportunities, such as AI.

Sometimes this means existing applications must be modernized. In other cases, it’s about creating better cohesion between solutions. Often, it’s a combination of both.

At Darize we recognize the merits of older applications, and we know how to modernize them. Doing this allows us to reduce technical debt, so these applications can keep their place in your future IT environment. We also help connect internal and external solutions, so you can benefit from digital workflows that are integrated end-to-end.

Modernization

Even if an application has been around for a few years, it can still be of great value to your organization. At some point, however, it may become so difficult and expensive to maintain that all or part of the solution will need to be modernised. This can be done through replatforming, technical upgrades, performance optimisation or by tackling technical debt, for example.

System Integration

When data and workflows span multiple solutions, the systems must be able to communicate with one another. We build integrations and APIs that connect both internal and external solutions, enabling secure and efficient data exchange. This allows you to add new solutions to your system landscape without having to rebuild everything from scratch each time.

Old does not necessarily mean ready for the scrap heap

Legacy systems tend to have a bad reputation. But an application doesn’t automatically become worthless simply because the technology behind it is outdated. Often, many years of practical experience and knowledge about an organization is embedded within its systems.

That is why a modernization project begins with first understanding the existing solution. What does it do, which processes does it support, what data flows through it, and how does it fit in with the rest of the system landscape?

Some parts of an application may be expensive to maintain, while others may function perfectly well and be stable. The task is to identify what constitutes a risk and how that risk can best be mitigated. This can be achieved, for example, by upgrading, migrating or re-engineering parts of the application.

It is also worth bearing in mind that a complete replacement can be a major undertaking. Functionality must be rebuilt, business logic must be recreated, integrations must be re-established, data must be migrated, and so on. More often than not, this is costly and time-consuming work.

That’s why we don’t start with old versus new. We start with what can safely stay as it is, what’s worth carrying forward – and what needs to be replaced
